Yes to Touch
YES TO TOUCH
This one day workshop connects with the two day process called “touch for healing”. Both arose out of a concern for the degree of alienation and isolation that we can feel in modern urban lifestyles.
It introduces powerful and generic concepts of touch. This is useful for professional body workers and lay people alike. 50 years ago we were surrounded by a multi-generational and large family tree. In the family house touch of all kinds including eye contact was common.
This love in action has become so impoverished. We can be caught in a numb procession of subways, shopping malls and white collar working environments. There is no physical exercise, and mentally tired and depressed we may tend to surround our evenings in cyber realities of movie, TV and computer communications.

CIRCLE OF LIFE
How can we infuse our lives with more contact, meeting and melting? Looking into the word touch is delightful. Where do we draw the line between touching ourselves and touching the other? Both require the same skills. This group is a small adventure into ways we can humanise our world and meet naturally. These exercises reflect that healing is based in love and presence.
We are invited into games of physical touch, eye contact, circles and other forms of group touch. We consider the principle, “open mind falls to rest and follows the natural movement of the other”. We find out how just resting a hand and listening to the other staying centred and in our comfort and stillness, can lead to a profound meeting.
We consider how sound can be used as a focusing for embracing the other and keeping the communication present. We look into intentional touch with light and colour. Counter pointing with eye contact and circles, with low and high energy movements and utilising sweaty dance highs we also introduce the notion of transforming meeting from “me to you” to “I to I” or “self to self”.
